If both the above are blood borne diseases that means anyone’s blood that comes into contact with some one else’s blood will definatley develop hepatitis c or hiv sometime during their life as you have someone elses blood in your blood stream, Why are so many people discarding the fact you will develop these diseases this way?

A family member has hepatitis C she is now pregnant. She contracted hepatitis C from unclean needles. She has been clean for over a year. While she was using she had a staph infection that nearly killed her. The doctor told her before she left the hospital not to become pregnant because her child would be infected with it. Will this child have any chance at life ?

Phil Jones asked:

I am curious to know EXACTLY how people get hepatitis c from drug use or sharing needles? Say if hypothetically you were sharing a needle with some one who you know does NOT have the virus and you also do NOT have the virus yourself then how is it possible to transmit the virus from one person to the other via this method? Does this mean that you will not get hepatitis c from sharing needles with this person as you dont carry HCV? How does this all work out and transmit into the virus if at all it does?

E.C. asked:

point where you would have an elevated white blood cell count during an exam? I would assume if a person’s immune system was healthy, the white blood cells would respond fairly quickly to any invaders, including a virus latching onto liver cells turning them diseased, and they say people usually find out they have hepatitis from routine blood testing. Do white blood cell levels rise instantly any time they’re fighting an infection? Would a doctor order a liver function test or test for hepatitis to determine if that’s the cause?
