E.C. asked: point where you would have an elevated white blood cell count during an exam? I would assume if a person’s immune system was healthy, the white blood cells would respond fairly quickly to any invaders, including a virus latching onto liver cells turning them diseased, and they say people usually find out they have hepatitis from routine blood testing. Do white blood cell levels rise instantly any time they’re fighting an infection? Would a doctor order a liver function test or test for hepatitis to determine if that’s the cause?
